3-Minute Homemade Steak Seasoning

This homemade steak seasoning is a flavor booster for your grilling game. Made in less than 5 minutes, it uses ingredients likely already found in your pantry to perfectly season your steak. Blending herbs and spices with salt and pepper, it works for any steak, whether it's a ribeye, NY strip, or filet mignon. Use it immediately or make a double batch and store some for later.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Diamond Crystal kosher salt
  • ½ tsp dried rosemary
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp dried thyme

Instructions

  • Measure out each ingredient with the appropriate measuring spoon and place it into a small bowl.
  • Use a small whisk or other utensil to stir the ingredients together until thoroughly combined.

Notes

  • This recipe makes about 3.5 tsp of seasoning, enough for between 2 and 3 lbs of steak depending on how heavily the steak is salted.
  • Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
