This simple crockpot chili recipe is tasty, filling, and great for cooler weather. It's simple comfort food that's perfect for a family dinner.
1 1/3 pounds ground beef 1/2 large onion 29 oz diced tomatoes 14.5 oz white beans 14.5 oz kidney beans 14.5 oz black beans 4.5 oz chopped green chiles (optional) 2 tbsp chili powder 1/2 tbsp ground cumin 1/2 tbsp garlic powder 1.5 tsp kosher salt 1/2 tsn pepper
1
Take out your crockpot and all your ingredients. Remove the lids of the cans and measure out the spices.
Pour the beans into a colander and run water over them to drain. Let sit and drain further while you prep the ground beef and onion.
2
Cook the ground beef over medium heat until brown all the way through. If you put it in the crockpot uncooked your chili will be mealy.
3
While the ground beef cooks, dice up your onion.
4
Once the beef is done cooking, put all the ingredients into the crockpot and stir to combine. Cook on high for 8 hours or low for 4 hours.
5
When the chili is done cooking, scoop it into bowl and serve with cheese, sour cream, or other toppings!
