INGREDIENTS

Filling: 2 lbs apples 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg 1/3 cup maple syrup 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp arrowroot powder

Topping:  1.5 cup rolled oats 1/3 cup fine almond flour 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 cup maple syrup 1/3 cup melted butter

Preheat the oven to 350F. Wash & dry the apples, then cut them into quarters and remove the core & seeds. Thinly slice them and put them in a bowl.

Pour the maple syrup in, along with the lemon juice & arrowroot powder. Mix to coat the apple slices.

Put the apples into an 8x8 baking dish and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 20 minutes.

While the apples are cooking, combine the topping ingredients in a large bowl & stir until well mixed. Set aside.

Remove the dish from the oven when the timer goes off & stir with a spoon to distribute the juices.

Pour the crumble topping over the apple slices in an even layer.

Smooth the topping out with a spoon, then place the dish back in the oven to bake for 40 minutes.

Remove from the oven & let cool for 5-10 minutes, then serve with a scoop of ice cream!
