CRANBERRY SAUCE

3 INGREDIENT

This homemade cranberry sauce recipe is as simple as it gets. With only 3 ingredients it cooks up in less than 20 minutes and tastes amazing. Naturally sweetened with maple syrup, it’s also vegan and paleo.

INGREDIENTS

– 1/3 c maple syrup – 2 cups cranberries – 1/4 c orange juice

Rinse off the cranberries, then add them, the orange juice and maple syrup to a medium saucepan.

Stir everything together then cook over medium heat for 12-14 minutes, stirring frequently. Around 8 minutes in the cranberries will start to pop - this is normal!

Remove the pan from the burner. If there are any cranberries that are still whole, use a spatula and press them against the side of the pan to pop them.

Taste the cranberry sauce & adjust for sweetness, if needed, by adding 1 tsp of maple syrup at a time. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 to 3 days.

When serving, add an optional garnish of orange zest if desired!

How do you get bitterness out of cranberry sauce?

Use a sweetener like maple syrup or honey and/or a sweet juice like orange or apple juice. This recipe uses both.
