CHOCOLATE OATMEAL

These No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies are the best when you want an easy treat Made with cocoa, peanut butter, and old fashioned oats, they're perfect for holiday gatherings & kids absolutely love them!

INGREDIENTS

– 2 cups old fashioned oats – 1/2 cup maple syrup – 1/2 cup butter – 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter – 1/4 cup cacao powder (or unsweetened cocoa powder) – 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1/2 teaspoon flaky salt

Measure out and place the oats in a large mixing bowl. Also line a sheet pan with a piece of parchment paper. Set both aside.

Put maple syrup, cacao powder, vanilla extract, & peanut butter in a saucepan and cook over medium heat. Whisk until fully melted & combined.

Pour the chocolate mixture over the oats and stir until well mixed.

Scoop out some of the oat mixture & place on the parchment paper. You can do smaller cookies of 1-2 tablespoons or larger ones of 4 tablespoons.

Flatten the cookies gently with the bottom of a large glass then sprinkle a pinch of flaky salt on top of each.

Place the cookies in the fridge for 1 hour to set. Then serve & enjoy!

What causes no bake cookies to harden?

These cookies harden from the peanut butter & butter solidifying in the fridge's cool temperature.
